It appears Christmas has arrived a few months early this year. Despite the high temperatures in Phoenix, Santa paid me a visit to deliver the 2014 Lexus RX450h 5 Door SUV. His ears must have been ringing since I have already started bribing my 3-year-old son with, “Santa will only bring you toys if you are a good boy all year long.” I must be a good girl because the RX450h has all the bells and whistles a driver could wish for.
There was no bow wrapped around the exterior of the RX450h when it arrived in my driveway, but the 18X7.5 in. alloy wheels, all-season tires were shiny enough, and the bow would have hidden the sleek exterior, including the turn signals in the mirrors, the variable intermittent front and rear wipers, the spoiler and the rear power liftgate door.
I must be a good girl because the RX450h has all the bells and whistles a driver could wish for.
The 5th door on a 5 door SUV cannot be constrained; after all, it is a great place for “Santa Claus” to transport his toys. Along with a cargo area light, a whopping 40 cubic feet with all seats in place and a max cargo space of 80.3 cubic feet can easily fit the new Power Wheel Deluxe Jeep that my son hopes Santa will bring him this year.
Lifting up the hood of the 2014 Lexus RX450 h was like opening another present that had come way too early. The 3.2L V6 Hybrid CVT Automatic engine had a sparkle just like Rudolf’s red nose, but the power that accompanied this engine did not require the help of 9 reindeer. This front wheel drive with 295 horsepower got me quickly around town, and the RX450h is efficient. With 32 city miles per gallon and 28 highway miles per gallon, this Lexus can get up to 550.4 miles on 1 17.2-gallon tank of gas. If Santa Claus was looking to swap out his sleigh, the compass included in this SUV could get him to every good little boy and girl’s home without having to fill up too many times. And, I bet his sleigh does not have a remote anti-theft alarm system, dusk sensing headlamps, roadside assistance or cruise control. Other safety features on the RX450h include: 4-wheel ABS, airbag deployment notification, pre-collision system with dynamic radar and a first aid kit.
Overall, I would rate the Lexus RX450h as one of my top gifts from Santa.
Things got even better after opening the door to the 2014 Lexus RX450h 5 Door SUV. All of the standard features throughout the interior were like the little gifts you find in your stocking. The external temperature display (reminding me that it is still summer even though I have Santa on the brain), the front and rear cupholders, 12V rear and cargo area power outlets and leather steering wheel with audio and cruise control were all little treasures. Just like the small gifts I have been giving my son each week after he has been a good boy at school. It encourages him to keep behaving and believing that Santa will visit in just a few short months.
The 2014 Lexus RX450h 5 Door SUV is definitely the gift that just keeps on giving. Even after days of driving the SUV around town, I would keep discovering the additional perks of this present. With satellite radio service, 9 speakers and Bluetooth, I was thoroughly entertained; however, the adjustable speed sensitive volume kept my focus on the road. I was able to stay cool, just like Santa in the North Pole, with the air filtration and dual zone climate controls. I even felt the comfort through the 8-way power driver and passenger seats and power adjustable lumbar support both with height adjustable cloth, bucket seats. My passengers rode in comfort too with reclining rear seats and a storage center armrest.
Overall, I would rate the Lexus RX450h as one of my top gifts from Santa. Santa did not hold back – the starting price on this SUV is $46,410. I just hope my 3-year-old son does not expect his Power Wheel Deluxe to have the same marvelous features found in the 2014 Lexus RX450h 5 Door SUV. I also hope he has the gift of patience since the holidays and cool weather are still 100 days away.
