WHEN YOU’RE HOT YOUR HOT

Summer is in full effect! Since we do not have a pool at home, we are adventuring all over town to get wet and stay cool. Luckily, we get an average of 42 miles per gallon while driving the 2018 Ford Fusion Platinum Hybrid which has a 2.0L iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 engine and electric motor. Along with the 18-inch machined-faced aluminum with magnetic painted pocket wheels, the Ruby Red Tinted Clearcoat exterior kept us looking hot on the outside but feeling cool on the inside.

In addition to being red-hot, the Fusion has a power moonroof, rear decklid spoiler, single exhaust with bright tip and premium sport grille. Another fiery feature is the power heated exterior mirrors with security approach lamps, turn signal indicator, auto-dimming driver side and memory. Just when you thought it could not get any warmer outside, the Fusion Platinum Hybrid added LED everything – signature lighting, taillamps, headlamps and fog lights.

Despite the heat we were giving off, we definitely stayed cool inside this Ford as we traveled from splash pad to inflatable pool. Even with premium leather seating and armrests, the cooled front seats and dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control kept me and the boys in the back cool – they even admitted to being a bit chilly after we left my sister’s house for a dip in her above-ground pool.

Since we have been visiting so many inflatable pools, it seemed fitting that the 2018 Ford Fusion is the first in its class to offer inflatable rear seatbelts. They are designed to hold the passenger in the appropriate seating position and can help reduce the risk of injury. I was happy to learn that most are compatible with booster seats. Other impressive safety features include: rear view camera, reverse sensing system, lane-keeping system and BLIS (blind spot info system.

It is not just the looks of the Fusion that are hot – the price tag of $38,770 is also sizzling. With summer keeping us all looking to cool off, the 2018 Ford Fusion Platinum Hybrid is the perfect vehicle to do just that. Believe me, the voice activated navigation can guide you to any splash pad, city pool, waterpark, you name it!
