TWO KINDS OF GOLF

Of course, the men in my family wanted to spend Father’s Day on the golf course. We met them for brunch at the club with all nine children in tow. Luckily, I had the 2018 Volkswagen Golf TSI.  Not only is the Golf fun to drive, it comes with a warranty and performance that could have beat anyone on the course.

The Golf has America’s best bumper-to-bumper limited warranty which covers 72,000 miles or 6 years – that is the age of our oldest son who has probably moved more than 72,000 miles in his lifetime. At no cost, this warranty can be transferred if the owner sells the Golf – this transfer guarantee does not apply to children.

Fast like my children and as fast as my brother beats all the other dads in golf, this Volkswagen comes with a high-performance turbocharger and sport-tuned suspension. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds and the driver can monitor this performance with three digital gauges. Basically, this 2.0L TSI engine is designed to fire on all cylinders just like our dads.

The Golf looks great on the outside too – better than my brother-in-law’s golf swing. It has 19” Englishtown alloy wheels, dual exhaust with quad tips and all-new LED taillights, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. It looks sharp and sporty – perfect to carry the snazzy golf club covers and golf towel that we purchased as a gift for my dad – NY Giants emblem on them all – I was sure that would help with his golf game. It didn’t end up working.

It was awesome I had the 2018 Volkswagen Golf TSI to pick up my husband after his round of golf. The bag of clubs easily fit and the carbon touch accents and the bucket-style, race-inspired front seats made us feel like athletes.  Even though we could drive like racecar drivers, the Golf kept us safe – not like the danger you could find yourself in when my brother throws a golf club. The 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system distributes the torque while the car still gives peace of mind with rear view camera, pedestrian monitoring, adaptive cruise control and an Intelligent Crash Response System.

Golf and the club for brunch were a huge hit for Father’s Day and so was the 2018 Volkswagen Golf TSI. With 21 city and 29 highway mpg and an MSRP of  $

22,860, the Golf is almost as affordable as a round of golf nowadays. And, with the digital cockpit, Fender Premium audio system and the 8” touchscreen navigation, I was the envy of all the dads, but I think the greatest feature for them was the Volkswagen name – the Golf.

MSRP: $22,860

As Tested: $25,760

Father’s Day Brunch for 17: $430
