Back To School In A Subaru

This summer flew by. Can you believe Back To School is upon us? As a teacher and mother of a soon-to-be first grader, there is so much to do before the school year begins, so it was fortunate we had to 2017 Subaru Impreza the week before school starts.

The total redesign of the Impreza for 2017 is exactly how I want to be as a teacher this year! With a new curriculum and 2 years under my belt teaching 6th grade, this is definitely going to be my year to shine. Just like the Impreza has stepped up its game with a bigger platform, spacious interior and superb features making it top-rated in the compact car class. Subaru Impreza

The 2.0i Premium has an all-new structure that is built to last with strength and reliability. The bigger platform, which is offered as a sedan or 5-door hatchback, has grown an overall length of 1.6 inches and the wheelbase has grown by an inch. This creates more interior space that has provided the most passenger volume in its class with 100.9 cubic feet. On our back-to-school shopping spree, we were able to fit all the pencils, markers, Clorox wipes, tissues, paper and folders on Berrett’s teacher’s wish list. If she requested snow skis, we had plenty of room for that as well on the roof racks.

Most of the items on my wish list were found on the interior of the 2017 Subaru Impreza. The power moonroof/windows/doorlocks/exterior mirrors, 7 total airbags, rear-vision camera, STARLINK 6.5” multimedia system and STARLINK safety plus security package made me feel in control of the Impreza. Control being number one on my wish list at the start of the new school year. With 160 new 11 and 12-year-olds in my classroom, control is something difficult to achieve.

We had plenty to do the week before school starts: haircuts, new shoes, school supplies, dentist and the list goes on. So, it was great the Impreza got 38 mpg highway and 26 city. We were also able to go from 0-60 mph in just 124 feet, so we got to most of our destinations quickly. The DOHC 4-cylinder 2.0 liter Boxer, direct injection engine provides power that is easy to handle but a blast to control especially with the paddle shifters.

Just like I want my classroom and my son’s classroom to be packed with learning and influence, the Impreza is packed with technology and safety features that are two features that are also crucial to the classroom. These include the EyeSight driver assist technology includes adaptive cruise control, automatic pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert. I surely wish I had blind spot detection so I could see everything going on in the classroom.

Subaru Impreza InteriorWe are off to a great start, and this school year is going to be a success. We also think the redesigned 2017 Subaru Impreza is going to be a huge success as well. It empowers drivers to get the best out of a sedan at an affordable  MSRP (starting at) $18,395 just like we want to empower students to get the best out of their education.
