It doesn’t matter what football, baseball, soccer or any other sport team is your favorite.  We are all missing our favorite teams, tailgating and even fantasy football parties. I have found that Auto Journalists also have their favorite brand and model like a team (Team Toyota) . When you have test driven so many vehicles, they either blur together or you keep gravitating to one manufacturer or brand.

When I’ve asked consumers what full-size SUV they would choose if they had a budget between $80,000 to $90,000.  I heard repeatedly the Toyota, Land Cruiser (4WD/V8). There are other choices out there with fancier names and larger price tags, but the Land Cruiser has the luxury and safety most women are interested in.

The Land Cruiser is luxurious, quick, quiet, comfortable, and refined. Toyota’s flagship SUV has the same smooth and powerful 5.7-liter V8 as the Tundra pickup. When tested with the old six-speed transmission, and at 14 mpg overall it proved to be craving for fuel. An eight-speed automatic transmission is now standard and should slightly improve that number. The Land Cruiser rides very comfortably, and the interior is roomy and well-finished. You can expect superb off-road performance, assisted by a crawl mode to ascend and descend steep slopes. Automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and rear cross traffic warning are standard. Electronic connectivity has been updated, with Toyota’s Entune touch-screen audio system standard.

You can drive a team to play a game or drive to a sports bar wearing a mask and sitting six-feet away from your buddy, My choice is to watch on TV in my  home with some homecooked goodies and a beverage. So whatever team you are rooting for, I will stick with Team Toyota – Let’s Go Places.
