Hybrid Happiness

2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring

Let’s face it, these days we are not driving anywhere.  I miss being in the car.  I miss carpooling, driving to a restaurant (and staying to eat), making several trips back and forth to school because of a forgotten lunch or violin.  I can’t wait to get that back.  What I don’t miss however is the amount of gas I would go through in just a few days.  Now, I do drive a big ole truck, I need the room, but I will be looking for a hybrid my next go around.  I was incredibly happy to test drive the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring and see what it had to offer a soon to be busy mom again like me.

We are a family of five and I am used to having a beast of a car to go around town in.  I was surprised by how much room the CRV actually had and how comfortable and practical it was.  It was very roomy and fit us quite nicely, although I can see it being a little tight for long drives (whenever we start doing that again.)  The seats were very comfortable and leg room is appropriate for my family.  The cargo space is pretty impressive for a smaller SUV and leaves a good amount of space when the rear seats fold down.  The pockets on the door are spacious as well for water bottles, devices and of course those random goldfish that end up in my car!

Aside from the space, I was also impressed with the CRV’s safety features.  According to Motortrend, the CR-V and the CR-V Hybrid are very safe cars, earning the highest possible scores on every IIHS crashworthiness and front crash prevention test.  Every CR-V Hybrid includes the HondaSensing active safety features which include adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lane keeping assist system and road departure mitigation.  These are all safety features I would expect from Honda and it makes me one happy momma!

The CR-V Hybrid also performs like a champ.  It is Honda’s first hybrid to have all wheel drive and it is a stable one.  The battery of the hybrid is placed beneath the rear cargo floor which does not leave any space for a spare, but the weight distribution makes for another smooth, sturdy and solid Honda vehicle.  I sure wish my weight distribution did that.  The CR-V Hybrid’s EPA fuel-economy estimates 40 MPG city and 35 highway, both of which are really great for the amount of driving I look forward to doing once again.

There are plenty of other features the Honda CR-V Hybrid has to offer which is why I would definitely suggest you test drive one for yourself.  This is a great vehicle for someone who wants sufficient performance, adventure and who is eco-friendly.  The CR-V Hybrid gave me a feeling of happiness while driving it and I hope it does for you too!  Afterall, we can all use a little extra happiness right now!
